Lacus RAH DX G.A. Neo

Here's the photos of Lacus I said I'd upload. Took my time as usual but better late than never.
"Thank you for bringing mister Pink back to me."
You can see here the 2nd arm that comes with her on the right. She also comes with a couple of hands for the right arm so she can hold the flower. There are also two Haros, one with its wings out and the other with the wings in. Here face is interchangeable, one face with the huge smile, the other with a slight smile Her head also swivels around so you can have her looking in different directions.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Lights

I know it's not anime related but I thought it was worth posting a few pictures of our Christmas lights in action. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Now to plan next years additions!

Saber Outside Photoshoot

Here are the outside photos of Saber!
Saber Triumphant 1/7 GoodSmile Company
The pattern in the armour looks lovely in person.
The hilt itself is quite impressive up close.
As you can see the peg in the foot is metal so there shouldn't be any worry of it breaking. So far it seems others have had no problems with the figure leaning either. Goodsmile has a reputation for quality as well so I'm fairly confident I won't have any leaning problems.
Here's the paint on the front of her dress I was talking about in the first post. Turns out that this is the way it was meant to be. A little strange seeing as how the rest of the dress doesn't feature this.
There's a great deal of detail in the hair which is nice. Most figures just have a flat surface for the hair being directed to the back but the Sabers hair is sculpted to show the individual bunches.

Saber Triumphant Excalibur 1/7 GoodSmile Company

Saber arrived yesterday! This is the rerelease of the 2010 figure Saber Triumphant Excalibur from Goodsmile Company preordered from www.amiami.com. Better photos coming soon. Still got to get around to taking more photos of Athrun too!
Overall it's arguably my best figure so far. It's only truly comparable in detail, pose etc to other Goodsmile Company figures such as Rin Tohsaka Unlimited Bladeworks and Saber Lily Distant Avalon. She comes with two swords. One which is transparent and has the blue glowing thing around it indicating that she may possibly be using her noble phantasm and the other sword is the same except it looks normal without thing power up stuff around it. The blue stuff looks like it can be removed from that sword but I haven't bothered to try yet. It feels a little strange looking at her. The face is easily visible on all my other figures but her arms cover up half of it and I keep trying to get a better view of it lol.
The base has some pretty awesome detail and design put into it and the Fate/Stay Night logo looks pretty awesome.
The paint job on this figure is very nice in general although there are some patches on the front blue section of her dress which i'm guessing isn't supposed to be there seeing as the rest of the dress hasn't anything like it. I'll have to look into that more. However, overall there's something about this figure, the colours and the paint in it which is very nice to look at. Perhaps I could describe it as soft/smooth? Anyway enjoy the photos, I'll get some nicer ones up soon! There's also all angles of the box if anyone wants to see.

UPDATE:
It seems from pictures of other peoples Saber that the paint on the front of her dress is intended to be that way.

Supanova Brisbane 2012!

Well I went to Supanova in Brisbane last weekend! My friends and I ended up going on the Saturday and it was raining all day which was pretty lame because the venue has things split up in different building so we had to go through the rain to get to different sections. I also missed the cosplay competition this time. :(
The venue for the Gold Coast one earlier this year is a LOT better than the show grounds because everything is contained in one giant structure which makes finding things easier and you don't have to worry about rain. There's also toooonss of parking underneath at $10 for the day which is handy. OH! And Mcdonalds is close by too haha.
This was the Art Gallery building. Those air conditioning vents were incredible when they actually had them on.
One of the Gundam displays for the competition. I'd say this is the best one there by far. Maybe I should make an entry one time.
Some wrestling ring. Wasn't all that exciting. This was the building where they had all the stores. Hopefully next year they'll put the stores back in the regular building which is a fair bit nicer.
My favourite gundam hehe.

Anyway, it's still worth going to the Brisbane one. It's great to see all the anime merchandise on display and seeing people dressed up in their costumes and hanging out with friends even though we tend to kind of go off and do our own thing lol. I managed to pick up a large plush Totoro for my nephews first birthday and later on decided that I had to have one myself so I went back and got a second lol. I also decided to purchase the Vampire Knight Box sets that Madman sell at the conventions. I'm a sucker for collectors boxes of anime especially since Madman mostly use fatpacks now. I also got my first dakimakura of saber as well. It's amazing how much they managed to squash such a huge pillow down into a little packet. I was a bit worried until I opened it that it wouldn't actually be all that big lol. I found it interesting how I got a few comments on my Saber T-shirt because I didn't think it'd stick out much at the show. Someone even wanted a picture of it lol. I didn't take too many photos unfortunately, there wasn't really all that much that stood out that I thought needed a photo. Looking back on it I probably should have taken more general shots of stores and the venue itself. Anyway here's some of the few photos I took.

Sorry about the lack of Athrun photos, it's been raining or overcast here lately so it's taken a bit longer than I thought to find a sunny day!

Athrun Zala G.E.M. Megahouse Gundam Seed Destiny HD Remaster Project

Just arrived today! Athrun Zala G.E.M. Series from Megehouse. SOOO COOL. Gundam Seed/Destiny are some of my favourite series so I'm really excited to get this. Much nicer quality than the original RAHDX figure of him. Tracking said it was going to be delivered today so I waited around for hours and the delivery man didn't arrive until 1. Turned out his van broke down and had to be repaired. Anyway, I had to start work at 2 so I didn't have enough time to take outside shots but, I'll get around to them tomorrow I think. For now I'll show you a few pictures I took when opening him up for the first time.

His head actually has a ball point joint in the neck so his head can swivel around which is pretty awesome. His hand on the arm reaching out can rotate around so if you want him to be holding the Haro you can. Two haros come with this figure, both the same colour but one has it's little 'wing's spread out and has a mustache drawn on his face (like the one Lacus draws in the show) and the other one has no mustache and it's 'wings' in. There are also two faces that you can put on Athrun. One is a more serious one but the other one has him smiling a little which is nice. The Base is somewhat basic but well done. At first in the pictures I thought he looked a little different than the show but since I've got him I think this figure was done really well. It's great to have another male figure in the collection. Too few of them I reckon.
This is the first pre order figure ever (That I didn't cancel) and it came from Amiami. Also the first time I've purchased from them so that was all pretty exciting as well. I've got Lacus pre ordered (She was supposed to come out with Athrun but got delayed until the end of November :( but yeah I'm pretty excited to get her and I'm REALLY excited for the Kira Yamato figure coming out next year. I can't wait to finally have a proper figurine of Kira in my collection. Up until now I've only had the I-doll one which was pretty basic. About time they made a figure of him! This lacus will be my Sixth figure of her. I have the 2 RAHDX of her, the large and small I-doll and the ball point doll of her. So yeah, overall I'm really excited to get them.
Here's a slide show of some of the other pictures I took (shipping box, figure box, figure inserts etc.)
You can see his serious face in this picture as well.

Asuka Sunlight Photo Gallery

Here's some more photos of my Asuka Loppi figure. I took them outside so they turned out a lot nicer this time.

Luka Pics!

Here are the pics for Luka I promised.
Overall there isn't really anything bad to point out about this figure. There weren't any issues with the quality and as far as looks go it's up to the individual to decide.
The pose makes this figure pretty cool to look at and the size makes it stand out nicely.
I love the transparency in the hair on this figure.
Her mic is actually separate to the rest of the figure so you can put something else there if you like.
The record base.
And a slide show

Luka Megurine - Max Factory

The sun wasn't out today but I took a couple of photos. I take more photos on the next sunny day! For now I'll just say that I can't see any real flaws with this figure and I love the hair!

In my first review I did say I was going to include pictures of the boxes. You can find a few here in the slide show.

Rita Mordio - Alter - Tales of Vesperia

She arrived last Friday from Mandarake. I decided to try out DHL postage this time rather than EMS and it seems as though DHL is the way to go. About a day faster then the usual EMS and postage turns out pretty cheap!

Overall she's an awesome figure! If you like the game or the character then don't hesitate to get this. The detail, the paint and everything is really well done. There's nothing I can really complain about with this figure. There's also something about the skin colour they chose for the face on this figure that also works nicely. The best way to describe it is that it's more 'soft' than my other figures. I was really impressed with how well her eyes stand out too. The awesome greeny/teal colour in them looks really nice. If you're looking for figures with a great base then you'll love this. Alter put a lot of work into making the base look like a stone floor from an ancient city. It comes with all the cracks and dirt showing up as you'd expect. It really fits with the overall feel of the game. In fact, the whole figure itself matches the feel of Rita from the game. It's as if she just sprung out of the screen.

As usual here's a slide show of her. If you haven't worked it out yet you can view the pictures in a larger format if you click on the slideshow. As it was a nice (albeit hot) sunny day today I decided to take the photos outside. They seem to have turned out a lot nicer than usual with the natural light. There's also some close ups on her so you can see all the detail.

I also had no idea that the Tales of Vesperia figures from Alter were accompanied by a little caricature figure of the person as well. Needless to say, this turned out to be an awesome surprise when I opened the box!
Her head swivels too!

Stay tuned for Megurine Luka Tony Ver. by Max Factory! She should arrive by Tuesday.
